The only recent record is of plants without
capsules, so the identification may not be completely certain
(steep partly bare clay soil of S.-facing bank near stream in
area of grassland and flushes, Cardinham Downs, SX105696
(SX16E),12 Nov. 2000, DTH 00-822); few
closely adjacent patches, up to 10 cm across or mixed with
other low mosses:
Dicranella
heteromalla, Dicranella rufescens,
Pogonatum
aloides).
Not seen c.fr. Archegonia present 11 (on
DTH 00-822).
