Range & Status

This species lives buried in mud, muddy sand, or in shell-gravel, often in relatively shallow sublittoral water to about 40m depth. Whereas it has been stated to be not uncommon in the Plymouth district, there are few Cornish records. Elsewhere it is recorded from south Devon, Ireland, the Inner Hebrides and Shetland.
